We Overwhelmingly Conquer

For one who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God; for no one understands, but in his spirit he speaks mysteries.

For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful.
                                                                       I Corinthians 14:2, 14

These verses are telling us two different ways to pray out whatever it is we have need of. Praying in the spirit is a problem solver but you have to yield your spirit to the Holy Spirit in order for this to happen.

I've grown up in Jesus around faith people. Unfortunately tho, I've seen a lot of these faith people that think if they had enough faith they wouldn't have any problems in life. But, if you notice, you'll see that some of the greatest people of faith also had the greatest trials in life. It just goes with the territory. But thank God He's provided us with ways of defeating our enemies. If He didn't, we'd be in big trouble.

Romans 8:26-27 says, "In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God."

Now, this doesn't mean that God is going to take care of your prayer life; and you better have one if you want to see God answer prayers. If you don't have a prayer life then you won't have any prayers answered. This verse says "the Spirit Himself intercedes for us" but that does not mean He does it. It says, "with groanings too deep for words". That means through you. You have to do something.

One of the great things about praying in the spirit is you don't even have to know what you're saying. When the spirit is giving you the utterance, leading you to pray a certain way, you can be sure whatever it is that it is the perfect will of God being prayed thru you.

If you could fix your problem, don't you know it would already be fixed? But, you can't. I do know somebody who can and He resides on the inside of you and He will intercede for you, thru you if you let Him.

Romans goes on to say, "Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Notice in all these things, not from them, apart from them, IN them! If you don't like challenges then you won't like being a Christian. He's telling you that you are going to face challenges. Just learn to get comfortable in the conflict. Nobody likes to fight battles but you're going to have to. But, we have a promise that in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer.
